Our Season to Date
The Anexo Group Race Team have got off to a flying start in their first few months of competitive racing. With several podium positions already secured, they are gearing up to race as Juniors next year.
It’s been a busy July for riders Joe Cosgrove, Elliot Rowe, Bryn Lawrence, and Patrick Casey who have already established themselves as a strong, tight and cohesive racing unit.
Things kicked off at the Ilkley Cycle Races on July 1where Joe took the first-place spot. Elliot secured a stage win that same weekend at the London-2-day at Cyclopark in Gravesend.
A highlight for our 2022 season was undoubtedly The National Youth Circuit Championships on July 10, which saw Elliot battle it out for first place with Joe coming close behind in fourth place following a four-man breakaway to the finish line. This marks Elliot’s first national title win which will see him now race competitively in the national jersey.
Joe had further success after winning at Ilkley and made the podium again at Barnsley Town Centre Races on July 15 where he came third, followed the next day with a win at Salt Ayre at the final round of the North West Youth League which saw him lap the field.
It’s been a stellar start for the newly established Anexo Group Race Team as they head into the remainder of the season looking strong, competitive, and impressive in all aspects of their racing. With a varied skillset between them, together with a unified drive to succeed, the season ahead promises to be an exciting one.
We are particularly looking forward to Patrick’s appearance in the Summer European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) where he was selected to represent Ireland. He’ll be heading to Slovakia on July 26 to compete in a very hilly Road Race and a Time Trial alongside five other Team Ireland cyclists.
Alongside a number of upcoming UK based tournaments, the Anexo Group Race Team will also be travelling to Italy in September, to race at the famous Coppa D’oro in Valsugana. Past winners of the race include Max Poole, Marco Brenner, Alberto Bettiol, Diego Ulissi and Sonny Cobrelli. The team are really looking forward to racing in Italy for the first time.
October then sees the team travel over to Belgium for the first time. As a team we are really looking forward to the opportunity to gain further experience prior to racing at Junior level next season.
The team are training hard for their upcoming schedule and are looking forward to pushing themselves as they go head-to-head against some of the continent’s best junior cyclists.
