Anexo Riders In Action In Apeldoorn

Last weekend (January 6-8), Anexo Group Race Team riders Joe Cosgrove, Elliot Rowe, Sam Fisher and Will Salter travelled to the Netherlands to represent Scotland and Wales.

The busy schedule across the three-day Next Generation Track Meet provided an excellent opportunity for young cyclists to race against riders from all over Europe and North America.

The weekend started well for Welsh riders Fisher and Salter, who picked up Bronze in the Team Pursuit. Saturday saw Cosgrove riding for Scotland for the first time, hitting a new personal best in the 3km Individual Pursuit. Rowe, also riding for Scotland, shone brightly with a strong ride in the Kilo.

Fisher, who won a string of National Titles at Youth level, was in the mix throughout the weekend’s racing earning a Silver in the Elimination and another Bronze in the Madison. Salter picked up yet another Bronze in the Madison and also looked strong throughout.

Sam said:

“Really good experience racing out in Apeldoorn – first race as a Junior. I enjoyed the faster races and can’t wait for more of it with Anexo Group Race Team across the rest of the year.”

Will said:

“Enjoyed the experience in Apeldoorn; racing with some strong riders and the whole team getting great results.”

Joe said:

“Enjoyed racing in Apeldoorn – it was a pretty good way to kick off Junior racing. It was my first experience racing for Scotland and it was nice to finish off the weekend with some strong results and a PB in the 3km IP.”

With Senior Track Nationals taking place in Newport at the end of January, Apeldoorn was a great opportunity for our riders to see where they are.

Thank you to Scottish and Welsh Cycling, and all our sponsors and supporters.
